The story behind the name

Meet your therapist

Hi, my name is Brooke Gentzel, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2016 and began practicing in 2017.

I began practicing therapy because I wanted to see relationships and people thrive. I found that as people felt seen and heard, they became better versions of themselves.

My specialties include trauma recovery, attachment wounds, and couples therapy. I come from a Christian-perspective in my treatment because I believe that our hope and true sense of healing comes from Jesus.

To me, therapy is most successful when my clients are fully committed to their healing process. When you’re all in, you will notice a difference.

My Approach

There are so many modalities that I have learned from and appreciate using in my sessions. First, I try to understand who you are so that I understand what treatment may benefit you. Here are some of my usual approaches:

  • Emotionally Focused Couple/Individual Therapy

  • Trauma-Focused

  • Experiential Therapy

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems

Personal

Therapy, in itself, is a relationship. The most vital part of this relationship is a sense of safety. Because of this, it is of the utmost importance that I provide a warm environment of belonging. I want you to know that you are seen and valued. Beyond that, I believe that being my authentic self is one of the most meaningful pieces in building trust with you. I’m just as human as you are!

Experiential

The entire experience of therapy should be conducive to your healing. I want to equip you with things that are memorable so that you feel resourced in every moment. Sometimes therapy is deep and serious, while other times our healing comes from laughter. I am all about giving you what you need.
